Annual Golf Tournament Brings in $22,000 for Education

The 13th annual Great Locomotive Chase Golf Tournament, held May 18, 2009, brought in $22,000. The funds raised have gone to help the Southern Museum fund its educational programs and to bring in new artifacts. The event was held at Brookstone Country Club, and refreshments were provided by Carraba’s Italian Grill. Carl Black Buick/Pontiac/GMC sponsored the annual event for its seventh year in a row. The Houston-Stafford Electric team prevailed over the 20 teams that showed up for friendly competition. The team consisted of Phillip Stephenson, Bobby Filkins, Ernie Hollifield and Sid Thompson.
