Annual Heroes & Legends Gala Raises $25,000 for Museum Endeavors

The Southern Museum and the Kennesaw Museum Foundation hosted the annual Heroes & Legends Gala on November 7, 2009. The event was held at the brand new Embassy Suites of Kennesaw, with the meal provided by Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. The always popular Gala annually recognizes local “heroes” who go above and beyond to contribute to the success of the Museum and provide ongoing support. Melissa Hulsey and Raymond Rhoades were the two recipients of the “Heroes and Legends” award for 2009. Both Hulsey and Rhoades are figures of strength in the community, and are admired by many for their achievements and personal qualities. Both have been strong supporters of the mission of the Southern Museum. The Kennesaw Museum Foundation raised approximately $25,000 at this event. All proceeds raised benefit the Kennesaw Museum Foundation and support educational programs such as artifact acquisition, special events and exhibits, and educational outreach programs.
